UPDATEBALI.com, DENPASAR – In celebration of its 52nd anniversary, Griya Santrian held a turtle release event as a commitment to the Tri Hita Karana philosophy, which emphasizes the balance of nature and the preservation of Bali’s turtle ecosystem.
The celebration, themed “Unity Brings Happiness,” took place at Griya Santrian in Sanur on Sunday, May 26, 2024.
Ida Bagus Gede Sidharta Putra, the owner of Santrian Art Gallery and Griya Santrian Resorts Sanur, stated that the release of green sea turtle hatchlings involved international tourists. A total of 52 hatchlings were released to help sustain the turtle ecosystem.
“Santrian Art Gallery and Griya Santrian Resort are located in the Sindu Beach area, which is a natural nesting habitat for turtles. The hatchlings released are from green sea turtle eggs,” he explained.
Sidharta Putra also mentioned that during every Sanur Festival (Sanfes), Santrian Art Gallery and Griya Santrian Resort consistently organize turtle release activities.
“We hope Sanur will become a sustainable ecosystem for green turtles. The hatchlings released today (May 26, 2024) are about 1 to 2 months old,” he added.
Previously, an art exhibition titled “Culmination Calm in Nation” was held at Santrian Art Gallery, Sanur, Bali, on Friday evening, May 10, 2024. (den/ub)
